Regional Australia... It's Your Time To Shine!!
It has been a whirlwind few months. From planning out the concept of a national pitching competition at the end of last year to delivering events in 8 locations across Regional Australia... you could say that I am about out of puff...but not yet!
The Australia Post Regional Pitchfest adventure has taken us across the country meeting, engaging with and promoting regional entrepreneurs, artisans and small biz owners. We have provided a series of over 32 events for regional people to pitch their innovative business ideas (Australia Post Regional Pitchfest), learn about starting a start up (MAP Startup Intensive), grow their businesses online (Go and Grow Online) and be engaged and inspired by some of the top female entrepreneurs in the country (Tall Poppies Breakfasts).
From the state finals of the Australia Post Regional Pitchfest we now have eight national finalists. One regional super star entrepreneur from each state and territory. Their businesses range from distilleries to high end tech products and services, social enterprises and artisans, the national finalist list is impressive and diverse.
Each finalist has shown inspiring passion and drive to achieve. They are representatives of what is truly achievable from the regions in today's global marketplace. With all of them creating new jobs and some new industries, I would say that the future of work in the regions is on the right trajectory - and we are only getting started.
So next Friday night the lights will go up at the Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre and the eight national finalists will take to the stage to pitch for the title of Australia Post Regional Pitchfest National Winner. The event will occur right where the idea came to life in regional NSW. This national spotlight on regional innovation will see thousands of people tuning into the livestream from across the globe and no doubt the conversation on twitter (#APRegionalpitchfest) will be on fire!
If you live in or around Wagga Wagga, or fancy a trip beyond the city limits get your tickets HERE to be part of the excitement.
Friday 18th August // 5pm for a 6pm start // Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre
My cup will be full. Full of gratitude for the experience of being part of an amazing team that has bought this vision to life, grateful for the people we have meet and grateful that I am still married after so much time away from home!
Bring it Wagga! It's your time to shine!
