Dugald is the breakfast presenter on ABC Western Plains, based in Dubbo, but serving a number of communities across the region such as Mudgee, Wellington, Narromine, Coonabarabran, Coonamble, Cobar, Walgett and Bourke. He brings over 25 years of radio experience to the role, and has been with the station since 2008.
He has worked around the country during his career, starting at Cooma and the NSW Snowy Mountains, through Gippsland and the Latrobe Valley in Victoria, on to Brisbane and then Sydney.
He’s been involved as a presenter, reporter or commentator at many big events including the 2000 Sydney Olympics where he called several Australian Gold Medals, including the Women’s Water Polo victory.
After growing up on farms around Mendooran, Dugald was keen to get back to the bush, returning to the area with his family for a tree change in 2006.
Horses, chooks, cows and calves, and his girls (wife Karen and daughters Georgie and Charlie) form a major part of Dugald’s busy life these days.
